   2.   Leopold Filter Underdrain Block System for Sedimentation Tanks

The Filter Underdrain Block System is a support and water distribution system installed beneath rapid sand filters. This technology is imported from the United States and developed by manufacturers with extensive expertise in water filtration systems since 1924.

The underdrain system plays a critical role in supporting the filter media, ensuring uniform water distribution, and serving as a key component in the backwash process. Uneven distribution of water or air can lead to the formation of dead zones, resulting in reduced filtration efficiency and accelerated deterioration of the filter media.

The Air & Water Backwash system delivers superior performance compared to conventional water-only backwashing. The incorporation of air enhances the expansion and uniform distribution of the filter media, enabling more effective removal of accumulated impurities.

In addition, this system significantly reduces the volume of water required for backwashing, resulting in a noticeable decrease in wastewater generated from the process. It is easy to install, lightweight, and certified under ANSI/NSF 61 standards.

Since 2009, the system has been successfully installed in more than 75 projects to date.

   3.   Leopold Siphon-Type Sludge Collector

Submerged Sludge Collector technology is a critical solution for sedimentation tanks in water and wastewater treatment systems. Effective sludge management within sedimentation tanks is a key process that directly impacts overall system performance. If accumulated sludge is not removed consistently, it can lead to excessive buildup, deteriorating water quality, and increased load on downstream treatment processes.

The Submerged Sludge Collector operates based on the siphon principle, utilizing differences in water levels to create suction without the need for direct pumping. This results in low energy consumption and high operational stability.

This technology utilizes a PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) system to precisely control operational processes, enabling accurate configuration of sludge suction patterns and intervals. Users can flexibly adjust system functions to suit sludge characteristics, volume, and specific operational conditions of each project.

The PLC system enhances consistency in sludge removal with minimal mechanical movement, reduces human error associated with manual control, and ensures ease of maintenance. It also supports continuous and highly efficient operation of water treatment systems.

Siam Syndicate Technology Public Company Limited (SST) has successfully implemented this solution in more than 50 projects across various industries.

   2.   Nijhuis Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) System

In potable water production and wastewater treatment systems, primary water quality improvement is a critical step that directly impacts the efficiency of subsequent treatment processes. This is especially important for raw water containing suspended solids, organic matter, grease, oil, or algae—contaminants that conventional sedimentation systems often fail to remove effectively. These challenges place additional strain on filtration and biological treatment systems, ultimately increasing long-term operational costs.

The Netherlands, a global leader in water management technology, has developed the Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) system to overcome the limitations of traditional sedimentation processes. This advanced solution is designed to operate efficiently within limited space while meeting the treatment demands of both industrial applications and municipal utility systems.

The Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) process operates by separating suspended solids from water through the use of fine air bubbles. It is highly effective in removing low-density suspended particles and is specifically designed as a primary water treatment system to enhance water quality.

This process helps reduce turbidity, lower suspended solids, and significantly decrease the load on subsequent treatment stages. It begins by dissolving air into water under high pressure to produce air-saturated water. The pressurized water is then released into the treatment tank, where the reduction in pressure causes the dissolved air to form a large number of fine microbubbles.

   3.   Polychem Plastic Chain Sludge Collector

Plastic Chain Scraper (Non-Metallic Flight and Chain) is a critical component in wastewater treatment systems, designed to enhance the efficiency of sludge removal and collection processes.
